Testimonials from Graduates of TPW West

In its sixth year, The Philanthropy Workshop West has graduated over 70 men and women, ages ranging from mid 20’s to mid 60’s, from the Seattle, New York, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco Bay Area regions. Each class is balanced as to gender, age, profession, political affiliation, geographic region, and inherited versus newly made wealth. Many participants come from high-tech (e.g. Ebay, Amazon, Google, Cisco, Netscape, America Online, IBM and Netflix); several currently run start up companies; some are doctors and lawyers; others have worked in universities; a few work in the venture capital field or have started family investment companies; and some of the younger graduates have volunteered internationally for several NGO’s.

An outside consulting group was recently hired to evaluate the impact of TPW West programming by interviewing graduates of the program. Here are some results they found:
