Beyond the areas we have chosen for our focus, we have become educated about many other philanthropic issue areas, which we consider being a very valuable component of our overall education and awareness which was helpful in making our focus choices.

I will look at disparate groups working together on an issue in a different way now. I loved the message that “common ground” can be found between them. The program makes me think differently about ways to find potential partners for some of my non-profit organizations. So my key takeaway is to be more creative in reaching out to unlikely partners at first glance.
